Sanjay Leela Bhansali plans to complete his historical romance, “Bajirao Mastani” by the end of September. “I will be left with just one song which I will shoot next month,” spoke the director exclusively to Pinkvilla from the Film City studios in Mumbai where the main cast and crew is currently shooting some of the important sequences of the film.
The maverick director, who was found sitting in front of a monitor, was seen giving instructions to the film’s leading lady, Deepika Padukone and choreographer, Remo D’souza for a song sequence being shot in the artistically created Aaina Mahal, and one was totally mesmerised by the enormous grandeur of it.
Deepika looked resplendent in designer Anju Mody’s elegantly designed dress; also a Peshwa cap rested on her head. “Even in “Ram Leela”, I wore Anju’s clothes and for this film she has designed for all of us,” said Deepika.
Bhansali said that he has taken far less time in completing “Bajirao…as compared to his earlier films. “I started the shoot last September and I will complete the film by the end of this month,” he said.
The film narrates the story of the Maratha Peshwa Baji Rao I and his second wife Mastani. Ranveer Singh and Deepika portray the titular protagonist, and Priyanka Chopra play’s Bajirao’s first wife. The film is scheduled to release on December 18.
